This private adventure with David Hemmings is a custom itinerary for our group to the Khutzeymateen Bear Sanctuary / Great Bear Rainforest to ensure the most productive and incredible bear photo experience. Stay in a unique floating lodge with private rooms and modern eco friendly facilities. Our itinerary is custom to ensure we have the most time, best light, most comfort with 4-5 photographers only in two zodiac boats with our guides. To photograph these incredible bears, special permits and licenses to operate in the Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary and area inlets are required. This grizzly bear photo workshop is home to over 60 grizzly bears, mother and cubs and male grizzlies.

Be one of only a few allowed to photograph these amazing bears in the Khutzeymateen!

During September, we photograph a variety of grizzly bears eating salmon with fall landscapes, drop backs of yellows, greens and the changing colors of fall. With over 60 grizzlies protected in this conservancy, they are well habituated to being photographed and have been in the area for many years.  Grizzly males, females and grizzly cubs are also living amongst other wildlife we may photograph including coastal wolves, black bears, sea lions, seals, dolphins, whales. Discover wildlife estuaries and other river inlets to photograph grizzlies fishing for salmon along with other coastal wildlife and landscapes. There are amazing backdrops with a variety of blue waters, and greens. In June, take photos of young cubs with bright greens, blue waters and fresh sedge grasses and spring wild flowers.

This is an exclusive adventure and we will be the only ones at the lodge.

We have two 22 foot Zodiacs for our use (4 photogs per boat).

At the floating lodge there are 10 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. To ensure During the day you get on board our zodiac and photograph wildlife within river inlets and return to the lodge for a break and lunch and then head out again for bear photography. We are in the boats 6 hours per day but can adjust our time based on the photo opportunities.   Questions? info@hemmingsphototours.com
